JOB DESCRIPTION:

Sales Assistant (JB1442)

Oranjezicht, Cape Town

R6 500- R8 500 Basic + Lucrative Commission

Duration: Permanent

Our client is looking for an experienced full-time Sales Assistant who is confident in selling luxury goods to a mostly foreign tourist market. While experience with selling art/ photography or an interest in wildlife/ conservation would be a plus, we are specifically looking for a confident and articulate salesperson to represent their brand and close in-person retail sales.

Minimum Requirements:

Excellent English communication skills

Minimum of 1-2 years sales experience, preferably retail sales

Experience in the luxury retail industry or a retail gallery would be beneficial

Experience using Shopify, Yoco and Google Drive a plus

Grade 12 certificate and tertiary qualification would be advantageous.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Meeting and exceeding set sales targets every month

Offering an exceptional experience to every customer

Maintaining high energy levels, personally and with the team

Increasing sales through internal and external innovative methods

Reconciling and checking stock occasionally, ensuring that nothing gets lost or damaged.

Basic record-keeping: You will learn how to use Shopify, Yoco as well as Google Drive

Sales

Providing prospective customers with an overview of artists history, for products they show an interest in.

Providing clear answers to queries regarding pricing, shipping, customs etc.

Closing sales by offering special offers, collecting payment, and arranging delivery if needed.

Leads

Capturing the contact details of prospective customers

Emailing them with additional information to facilitate the sale.
