Sales Agronomist - Row Crops

SUMMARY:
A global leader in the Agricultural industry is seeking an experienced Sales Agronomist for the row crop sector of the seed industry to provide technical sales support to farmers and agents in the field and to manage seed distributors nationwide.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a BSc. Agric. or B.Agric. with Agronomy, Horticulture and/ or Soil Science as major subjects
• 5 -10 years'' experience in Row Crops Sales will be required
• Must have a good understanding of, with previous experience in good agronomic practices
• Broad technical know-how of crops, products and farming practices is essential
• Must have knowledge of basic trial design and agronomic crop production
• Must be willing to travel
• Good interpersonal, communication and time management skills are required

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Developing and implementing product demonstrations in the field and region to support overall sales and marketing strategies.
• Investigating, understanding, capturing and communicating aspects of key crop production.
• Implementing regional business strategies and plans consistent with overall marketing and sales strategies.
• Implementing agreed demonstrations and in-field marketing trials and activities to influence and support sales.
• Recording and collating information and data to support all product performance.
• Supporting Marketing with relevant data for development of promotional marketing material.
• Identifying key crop, product and market opportunities and threats.
• Developing the competence, motivation and commitment of Dealers, Agents and Distributors through effective training, promotion and sales support aids.
• Keeping abreast of market, trade and competitor activity in order to revise strategies to meet changing requirements.
• Promoting and introducing products.
• Creating demand for the comprehensive range of seed.
• Establishing demo trials on field days.
• Engaging and collaborating with stakeholders.
• Gathering market intelligence and crop production information.
