SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a Salaries Clerk to join their team, responsible for managing payroll functions across their allocated DC Retail Stores.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and process employee timesheets submitted by stores.
- Maintain and update employee records in the payroll system.
- Accurately capture hours worked, leave, and overtime.
- Process statutory and company-specific deductions (e.g., PAYE, UIF, skills development levy, provident fund, funeral benefits).
- Update payroll data in line with employee movements (hires, terminations, transfers, etc.).
- Ensure payroll is completed within set timeframes and deadlines.
- Conduct month-end payroll reconciliation, reporting, and general administration.
- Verify accuracy of payments related to deductions.
- Address salary-related queries from stores and resolve discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve payroll-related issues promptly.
- Prepare monthly and annual payroll reports for management review.
- Manage employee terminations in the system, including final payslips, certificates of service, and UIF documentation.
- Follow internal controls to minimize errors and prevent fraudulent activity in payroll processing.
Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Minimum of 3 years’ payroll experience
- Experience using VIP Payroll software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
- High level of confidentiality and discretion
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliable and deadline-driven
