Safety Officer

SUMMARY:
Looking for a young, ambitious, energetic, robust, and vivacious individual for the role of Safety Officer. Min BTech degree in Safety Management or Environmental Health. Samtrac certificate essential. MIN 3-5 years experience in safety, health, and risk management. SOLID EXPERIENCE IN THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY.

Samstrac certificate essential.  Min 3-5 years’ experience in safety, health and risk management within a manufacturing environment. Must be willing to go the extra mile in getting the job done.  Must be career-orientated and have an excellent attitude.

1. Academic qualifications requirements

• Minimum requirements - Degree in Safety Management OR Environmental Health
• B Tech in Safety Management OR Environmental Health would be an added advantage
• SAMTRAC Certificate
• Sound knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 standards
• 3- 5 years’ experience in safety, health and risk management within a manufacturing environment

• SHE Legislation and South African National Standards
• Contract SHE Management
• Incident Investigation
• Auditing Management Systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001)

3. Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee day-to-day OHS Co-ordination and responsibilities
• Assist with ISO Systems and QA/QC Support
• Manage and coordinate mandatory Safety Meetings
• Responsible for SHE related training requirements
• Incident Management
• Site Risk Management
• Ensure Site Environmental management compliance
• Ensure Site OHS management compliance
• Liaison with local municipalities and relevant departments for statutory OHS compliance
