Safety Officer

SUMMARY:
Safety Officer required for building project situated in Bizana, Eastern Cape

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications & experience required:

• Must be registered with SACPCMP as Safety Officer
• Must have at least 5 years experience as registered Safety Officer
• Must have Shopping Mall or large Commercial Building project experience

Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspection of building site to ensure it is a hazard free environment
• Conduct Toolbox meetings
• Review and approve all subcontractors safety plans
• Verifies that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use
• Promotes safe practices at the job site
• Trains and carries out drills and exercises on how to manage emergency situations
• Conducts investigation of all accidents and near-misses
• Conduct job hazard analysis
• Watches out for the safety of all workers and works to protect them from entering hazardous situations
• Responds to employees safety concerns
• Coordinates registration and removal of hazardous waste on site
• Receives reports from and responds to orders issued by Department of Labor inspectors
• Compile Health and Safety File

Our Client shall be working on the construction of a retail shopping centre being a mixed-use Development. This is a 36 hectare phased development and our client is seeking a Safety Officer for a 12 month limited duration project

Preference shall be given to local residents of Bizana
