SHEQ Officer

POSITION INFO:

Our client leaders in material and industrial handling equipment based on the East Rand urgently seek your minimum 3 - 5 years experience to implement and maintain the company’s SHEQ practices and procedures in accordance to set targets and objectives which are aligned with the company’s strategic vision and legal

 Minimum Requiremenst and skills 

• Matric, Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
• Preferably studying toward a tertiary qualification such as SAMTRAC; B. Tech in Safety Management
• or any ISO Standard.
• Code 8 / EB driver’s licence
• Forklift Operator licence - advantageous

• Ability to work with a diverse group of people within the company
• Ability to prepare reports and present findings to management
• Use critical thinking and sound judgement to minimise safety risk and life endangerment for
• employees, customers and suppliers alike.
• Customer orientated
• Ability to plan and track SHEQ activities.
• Problem solving & decision-making skills are essential
• Must have the ability to work independently
• Computer literacy as well as good administrative and analytical skills is required

Responsibilties:

• Implement and evaluate SHEQ procedures
• Benchmark effectiveness of system conducting weekly audits
• Ensure that Health & Safety Representatives conduct monthly inspections
• Chair monthly meetings with Health & Safety Reps and prepare minutes of meetings
• Ensure SHEQ registers are updated
• Facilitate SHEQ/ASEC inductions
• Conduct internal audits as per annual plan
• Prepare and submit monthly reports
• Prepare safety risk assessments, safe work procedures and method statement
• Report any accidents or incidents and complete relevant documentation
• Ensure compliance and legal requirements for ISO 9001, 14001 and OSHAS 45001
• Prepare, arrange, record and report on training, emergency plan and procedures, fire prevention and building inspections
• Maintain good housekeeping
