SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

JOB PROFILE / LOCATION: A Permanent / Mid-Level Position in the Financial Services Industry (ICT / IT Sector) based in Johannesburg (N Suburbs) REMUNERATION DATA: R312, 000.00 – R432, 000.00 PA Total Cost Company including Benefits: Standard Corporate Benefits.

POSITION INFO:

JOB SUMMARY: Our Client, a leading Financial Services Group is in search of a suitably qualified and experienced individual to assume the above-mentioned role within their organisation. My client relies on their IT systems to assist and improve their business and overall customer experience and hence they require a solid / experienced systems administrator who is eager to use and grow their technological skills. The successful incumbent will support and manage critical systems ensuring the success of their overall IT strategy. Responsibilities will include: -

·            Install and configure software and hardware

·            Manage network servers and technology tools

·            Set up accounts and workstations

·            Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements

·            Troubleshoot issues and outages

·            Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls

·            Upgrade systems with new releases and models

·            Respond to and resolve help desk requests

Requirements / CRITERIA

·            A relevant IT qualification

·            A minimum of 2 years experience in an IT related environment with 3 – 5 years corporate environment exposure with proven experience as a System Administrator / Network Administrator or similar role

·            A+ and N+ Certified

·            MCSA certification is advantageous

·            Experience with O365

·            Experience with MS Hyper-V and VMWare

·            Knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues

·            Ability to respond to support incidents after hours

·            Experience networks (LAN / WAN) and patch management (Dell and Cisco)

·            Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and Data backup / recovery

·            Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms (Microsoft and Linux)

·            Experience working with Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS & DHCP

·            Sound knowledge and experience working with Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012 and 2016 (Windows Server 2019 will be advantageous)

·            Linux experience is advantageous

·            Experience working with Azure is advantageous as is SQL & MySQL

·            End Point Security Management (Anti-virus)

·            Excellent communication (written, verbal & presentation) and problem solving skills with the ability to use initiative and be resourceful

·            Strong Documentation skills
