SQL Support Specialist

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and technical individual to join our team as an SQL Support Specialist. In this role, you will play a critical role in supporting our business development team by acting as the primary point of contact and liaison for our customers. Your main responsibility will be to ensure smooth communication and provide technical support using your SQL skills.

POSITION INFO:

Manage and maintain relationships with customers using SQL expertise
Provide user interface-level support to customers, utilizing SQL queries and troubleshooting techniques
Assist customers with operational tasks and provide SQL-based solutions where necessary
Offer advice to customers and suggest improvements for optimal utilization of prepayment software
Provide SQL training to customers, helping them navigate and utilize our system effectively
Assist in the creation of technical and user-guide documentation, utilizing SQL knowledge
Manage operational and reporting issues using SQL queries to reach resolution
Document customer requirements and effectively communicate them to the operations or development team using SQL-based reports
Conduct high-level proactive system monitoring, ensuring efficient operation of portals using SQL monitoring tools
Assist in the project management of new customer system deployments, applying SQL skills for seamless implementation
Support User Acceptance Testing, including SQL-based User Interface testing, training, and providing support for software packages or solutions
 
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Grade 12 education or equivalent
A diploma, certificate, or degree in an IT-related field would be beneficial
Minimum 2 years of experience in a client liaison position, preferably with SQL exposure
Experience in the utility services, prepayment, or smart metering environment would be considered beneficial
Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans
Ability to multitask effectively, prioritizing tasks using SQL-based project management techniques
Support the business development and sales team through SQL-driven insights
Possess a clean driver's license and reliable car
