A global law firm based in Glasgow is looking for a SQL DBA to join them on a 12 month fixed term contract.
The Company
The company is a global law firm HQ''d in Glasgow with a very impressive tech environment and not shortage of projects to get involved in from the very early stages. They invest heavily in the latest tools and technologies, and you will have the chance to work on a global scale, on large complex projects as they have around 1500 users and terabytes of data.
The Role
You will be a key part in the planning and development of the SQL Server databases as well as providing guidance and support of the database infrastructure - specifically surrounding the performance, integrity and security of the database. This role will additionally have a small focus on the overall infrastructure, so some experience working with Active Directory and Windows Server would be hugely beneficial.
The role will cover both BAU and project implementation, so it is important that you enjoy getting stuck in to challenging projects but are equally happy to troubleshoot day to day database performance and ensuring standards are upheld.
The Team
You would be joining a well-established team of about 18 others, so there will be plenty of opportunity to share, collaborate and obviously support is on hand if required.
About You
You will have a passion for SQL and enjoy working in a challenging and fast-paced environment with some complex problems. Strong communication is a must as you will work alongside your global colleagues and manage stakeholders throughout all levels of the business.
You will have knowledge of all/most of the following:
** Exposure to SQL Server 2014 - 2019
** Strong SQL Server Troubleshooting
** Database design and improving High Availability and Disaster Recovery
** Installation and Configuration of new SQL Servers
** Exposure to Active Directory 2008/2012
** Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
** Virtualisation technologies (VMware etc)
