Job Description

Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Insurance Litigation Attorney to join their dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience handling complex insurance disputes and litigation matters to include short-term insurance recoveries and liabilities (motor and non-motor) issues.

You will be responsible for:

Representing clients in insurance-related litigation, including coverage disputes, bad faith claims, and policy interpretation.
Drafting and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
Conducting legal research and provide strategic advice to clients and colleagues.
Negotiating settlements and participate in mediation or arbitration as needed.
Collaborating with insurance adjusters, experts, and other professionals to build strong cases.

Qualifications

LLB degree.
Admitted Attorney in the High Court of South Africa.
Minimum of 3-4 years post-articles experience in insurance litigation or related fields.

Skills

The successful candidate will have:

Minimum of 3-4 years post-articles experience in insurance litigation or related fields.
Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage +/- 400 active files, both high and magistrate court work.
Fluent in English and Afrikaans would be preferred.
