SHERQ Practitioner (SADC) Mining

SUMMARY:

• Complete all internal site audits in line with mine requirements for both surface and underground sites across SADC
• Maintain an audit schedule and ensure compliance to that schedule
• Conduct first party process safety; pump safety and boiler safety audits on a sample basis
• Extensive mining experience is required.

POSITION INFO:
Qualifications and experience required:

• Diploma minimum in a technical field (mining, engineering, chemistry) supported by specialist safety certificates or equivalent
• Or a safety management qualification backed by extensive mining experience
• Auditing lead auditor course
• 3 to 5 years demonstrated experience in a heavy operational mining environment
• 2 to 3 years demonstrated experience in SHERQ management systems and auditing of such systems
• Process safety background

• Any other stakeholder as may be deemed important and relevant from time to time
• Conduct all internal audits in line with the mine requirements and ensure that all mine contractual safety requirements are being adhered to.
• Review SOPs to ensure that it is a true reflection of the activities carried out on the work floor
• Conduct planned job analysis on a sample basis
• Conduct first party pump and boiler safety audits on a sample basis
• Travel to SADC countries is required

Secondary tasks

• Must be able to relieve SHERQ officers during leave or extended sick leave.
• Assist site management with process safety implementation and sustainability projects
