SHERQ Officer
My client in the mining industry in the Northern Cape has a vacancy for a SHERQ Officer. The ideal incumbent will be required to provide safety services towards minimising and preventing accidents, manage non-conformance, and apply herself in a professional manner in all areas relating to safety, health, environment, risk and quality standards including:
- Inspections
- Investigations
- Assessments
- Analysis and Reporting
- Compliance
The ideal safety officer should have experience and skills pertaining to:
- Legislation
- Occupational Health and Safety
- Integrative ISO systems
- Competence A Certificate
- NOHSA
- Accident investigation
- Report writing and data reporting
- SHERQ
- Systems
- Functional
- Mining and Engineering business processes
- Mine Health and System Act
- Explosive Act (other legal requirements)
- ISO 9000 (System, Audit)
- ISO 45001 (System, Audit) (Legal Certificate)
- Integration between systems
- Hazard identification and Risk assessment skills
- National Water Act (other legal requirements)
- Understanding of IWULA Waste management, Environmental monitoring and Rail systems
- Understanding of SABS and SANS standards and the application thereof
- JD Edwards or equivalent
- Achiever
- Isometrix
- Risk assessment
- Permit to work
- All Discipline / departmental specific systems and software
Minimum requirements include:
- Grade 12
- Competent A Certificate Surface Mining
- National Diploma (NQF 6) in Safety Management / Risk Management
- Blasting Certificate / Rock Breaking MQA equivalent qualification
- Artisan Trade Test (Red Seal)
- Experience: 7 years operational experience in a mining environment
- Experience: 2 years risk assessment experience in a mining environment
