SUMMARY:
Our client, a National specialist distributor, currently seeks your SHEQ experience to oversee 4 Depots nationally, and employees across 2 companies.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Matric.
  • Diploma in Safety Management.
  • SAMTRAC, NEBOSH or equivalent.
  • HIRA.
  • Legislation (OHS Act,  NEMA, COID, By-laws) Certificate.
  • Relevant experience in a chemicals and distribution environment (Agro Chemicals).
The Job:
  • Oversee all SHEQ related functions for the overall business (approx, 70 employees in 2 companies, 4 depots National Footprint).
  • Relevant experience in implementing, monitoring and auditing SHEQ.
  • Ensure/enforce safety compliance and ensure all safety files are up to date.
  • Develop and manage the SHEQ training program.
  • Provide all staff and contractors with Health, Safety, Environment and Security training.
  • Manage the SHEQ Committee.
  • Manage SHEQ Management System implementation and updates to accommodate legislative changes and industry standards.
  • Develop, implement and manage the emergency preparedness procedure.
  • Ensure emergency system drills are conducted in line with the company policy.
  • Promote SHEQ awareness, develop and empower employees to take ownership for SHEQ.
  • Perform internal audits as well as customer audits and negotiate corrective actions with responsible Managers.
  • Set and monitor compliance to management SHEQ objectives.
  • Implement and manage compliance to the hygiene and ergonomics standards and recommendations for the business.
  • Incidents and accidents investigation, enforce timely closure of corrective action and ensure preventative measures.
  • Manage the process of lessons-learned and ensure that lessons-learned are fed back into the organisation.
  • Document control.
  • Compile Risk Assessments.
  • Update legal appointments.
  • Travel required (Depots/Nationally).
