SUMMARY:
One of the leading engineering company within transportation/rail industry is currently looking to hire a SHEQ Executive with the following skills and experience:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Specific Responsibilities

To ensure effective management of all SHERQ systems through the development, implementation, and compliance monitoring of risk based SHERQ Managements Systems in accordance with relevant ISO/SANS Standards as well as applicable legislation.
To coordinate and support the identification, assessment, mitigation and management of risks for the company via a defined enterprise-wide risk framework, thereby ensuring the risks are mitigated and monitored in accordance with the company’s risk policies.
To manage the Safety, Health, Environment, Risk and Quality (SHERQ) division of the company
Ensure that company safety and quality standards are identified, established and implemented so as to position the company as a world-class RTS operator
To develop/review the appropriate Safety, Health, Environment, Risk and Quality standards for the company.
To ensure the application of the appropriate safety and quality standards
Procedure for emergency situations

Background Requirements

Degree in Engineering or Degree in Environmental Health, Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety or related qualification
Business/Leadership post grad qualification essential
At least 10 to 15 years relevant practical and industrial experience

Key Competencies & Knowledge Required:

Knowledge of the following legislation: COID Act, OHS Act, BCEA, LRA, Railway Safety Act, Medicine, and related substance Act.
Risk Management
Possess leadership qualities.
Practical Visible Safety leadership skills
Strategic analytical and problem-solving skills
Stakeholder management
Report writing and business presentations
Communication skills (verbal and written)
