SHEQ Controller

Key Performance Areas

• Establish and maintain a strong SHEQ culture in the organization.
• Develop a Quality Management System to achieve an ISO listing and to maintain such listing through continuous review and enhancement of the QMS.
• Ensure compliance with all terms and conditions of the company’s Waste Management License.
• Advise and assist with the implementation of new or existing SHEQ-related legislation, rules and Company standards including, but not limited to, fire prevention, health and safety awareness training and site inspections.
• SHEQ training of staff - develop a SHEQ Communication Strategy for all levels of staff, to include written information, toolbox talks and management briefs
• Audit, monitor and measure the effectiveness of SHEQ programmes and adjust and improve continuously
• Provide support and expertise to line management in incident investigation and reporting (including dangerous occurrences and occupational diseases).
• Conduct occupational health and safety related surveys e.g. noise, lighting, exposure to chemical substances and action any shortcomings.
• Report on Quality trends including failed processes, recalls, corrective actions and revalidations.

EXPERIENCE

• At least 10 years’ experience in Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management Systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Drivers License Code 8.
• Occasional travel to inspect goods on site and to attend meetings may be required.
• Depending on manufacturing shifts employed hours of work may vary.
• May be required to work overtime on occasion without additional remuneration.

EDUCATION 

• Matric or N3 Equivalent.
• Computer Literate – MS Office.
• Health and Safety qualifications.
• QMS certification.
• Technical qualification will be advantageous
