SUMMARY:
Responsible for the development, maintenance, measurement and continuous improvement of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Systems Management.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Key Performance Areas

Establish and maintain a strong SHEQ culture in the organization.
Develop a Quality Management System to achieve an ISO listing and to maintain such listing through continuous review and enhancement of the QMS.
Ensure compliance with all terms and conditions of the company’s Waste Management License.
Advise and assist with the implementation of new or existing SHEQ-related legislation, rules and Company standards including, but not limited to, fire prevention, health and safety awareness training and site inspections.
SHEQ training of staff - develop a SHEQ Communication Strategy for all levels of staff, to include written information, toolbox talks and management briefs
Audit, monitor and measure the effectiveness of SHEQ programmes and adjust and improve continuously
Provide support and expertise to line management in incident investigation and reporting (including dangerous occurrences and occupational diseases).
Conduct occupational health and safety related surveys e.g. noise, lighting, exposure to chemical substances and action any shortcomings.
Report on Quality trends including failed processes, recalls, corrective actions and revalidations.

EXPERIENCE

At least 10 years’ experience in Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management Systems in a manufacturing environment.
Drivers License Code 8.
Occasional travel to inspect goods on site and to attend meetings may be required.
Depending on manufacturing shifts employed hours of work may vary.
May be required to work overtime on occasion without additional remuneration.

EDUCATION

Matric or N3 Equivalent.
Computer Literate – MS Office.
Health and Safety qualifications.
QMS certification.
Technical qualification will be advantageous

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Ability to work independently.
Analytical and attentive to detail.
Systematic and thorough.
Business English and fluency in at least one other indigenous language
