SHE Representative

• Review the effectiveness of health and safety measures in the workplace
• Identify potential hazards and potential incidents in the workplace.
• Examine the causes of incidents at the workplace
• Investigate employee complaints regarding health and safety.
• Make representations to the employer regarding health and safety, and to an inspector
• Accompany inspectors on inspections and participate in consultations with the inspectors.
• Receive information from inspectors as per OHS Act
• Induct new employees.
• Carry out the job observation and risk assessment.
• Inform management of any Health, Safety or Environment issues that may cause damage, injury, safety, or health related problems.
• Attend meetings for the health and safety committee in connection with any of the above functions.
• Visit the site of any incident at all reasonable times
• Participate in any of the health or safety audits.
• Ensure all necessary inspections are carried out prior to work
• Perform any other related task
