SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

JOB DESCRIPTION:

RedCat Recruitment is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced SENIOR ACCOUNTANT a large international concern, position based in the Pietermaritzburg area, KwaZulu-Natal.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Grade 12.

Competent computer literacy (MS Office, Email / Internet). Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.

Familiarity with accounting software and programs.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, math, business administration, or a related field.

Chartered Account CA(SA) and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, would be an advantage.

3yrs+ previous general accounting working experience (in a public accounting firm or in a private corporate environment).

Responsibilities include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks, which include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, preparing tax returns, assisting with audit preparations, preparing month-end close procedures and performing other accounting duties as assigned.

Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures to analyze financial reports and forecasts.

Familiarity with financial accounting statements.

Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
