SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

JOB DESCRIPTION:

RedCat Recruitment is urgently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced SENIOR ACCOUNTANT for a well-established national concern, position based in the Cato Ridge area, KwaZulu-Natal.

Grade 12.

BCom Finance / BCom Accounting Degree or similar.

Valid driver’s license / own reliable vehicle.

Person must be able to speak / read / write English competently.

Strong computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet). Advanced MS Excel skills.

5yrs+ previous working experience in a similar position (experience in transport industry is advantageous).

Person will be responsible for analysing and reconciling detailed general ledger accounts as assigned. Keeps records and accounts accurate and current. Daily, weekly and monthly transactional processing. Researches and resolves discrepancies and accounting errors. Completes related reports, summaries, and records. Creates monthly reports. Performs related clerical duties. Assistance with year-end audit. Deadline management.

Responsibility for the accurate and timely completion of assigned accounting functions.

Post a number of transactions to the appropriate general ledger account.

Reconcile general ledger accounts.

Performs miscellaneous filing/sorting of checks, journals, etc.

Completes required records and reports and maintains files.
