SUMMARY:
SALES REPRESENTATIVE with technical experience for implementations

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The sales function of this position will be generating and submitting of quotes to clients. The candidate will own the process from start to finish and will liaise with suppliers for pricing, generate the quote, submit to management for approval, submit approved quote to client, follow-up quote with client, place order(s) with supplier(s) and then pass to technical for implementation.
In addition to this the successful candidate will assist the Business Development Manager with all relevant aspects of sales.
The ability to generate new leads for the sale of IT solutions and services will also form part of this position. These opportunities may be with existing clients and therefore require the individual to be able to identify such opportunities. They should also be able to leverage their existing contact network and utilise techniques such as cold calling and door-to-door sales to “open doors” and setup meetings.
The successful candidate must:
• Have excellent communication and inter-personal skills and be able to interact with clients, build and maintain relationships and understand client needs and requirements.
• Have strong sales skills and a good general knowledge of IT.
The appointed person will report directly to and work closely with the Business Development to develop and grow the business.
The main responsibilities of the job are:
The most frequent duties for this job are set out below, but the job may include other or occasional duties and responsibilities:
• “Own” the quoting process from start to finish (as outlined above).
o Generate quotes, submit to client, follow-up, place orders, receive and dispatch stock.
• Handle facilitate field sales requests and site visits based on information gathered and client requirements.
• Sales of “pre-packaged” solutions e.g. LAN InspeXion and Mimecast.
• Visit existing clients to develop relationships and increase sales.
• Generate new business via contacts, cold calling, door-to-door sales, website leads or other means, lead warming for Business Development Manager
• Handle day to day quotes.
• Solution based and attached selling.
• Responsible for account retention and growth.
• Ensure that admin is always done according to company standard.
• Responsible for day-to-day duties (listed below, but not limited to):
o Quotes
o Daily interaction with clients
o Sales reports and Pipelines
o Scheduling meetings with new and existing clients
o Stock control
QUALIFICATIONS:
• At least a Matriculation certificate.
• Relevant operational and or communication related qualifications.
• Relevant vendor sales certifications an advantage e.g. HP (Hewlett Packard) Accredited Sales Person or Microsoft Licensing certified.
• Marketing qualification advantageous.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
• 2 to 3 years’ experience in relevant IT focused sales role.
• Relevant IT solution technical sales experience very advantageous.
• Good IT solution and product knowledge (HP and Microsoft primarily).
