SUMMARY:
A well-established manufacturer of high colour and chemical solutions requires a dynamic sales representative to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the sales process, with the aim to increase the company’s market share and meet sales targets.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent

 Experience and requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years sales experience to service new and existing Customers within the industrial hardware, fabrication, and related industries
  • Experience in the coating or chemical industry will be an added advantage
  • Computer literate (advanced skills on Excel)
  • Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
  • Technically minded
  • Have reliable transport as you will be required to use your own vehicle (a travel allowance will be paid)
  • Have a stable work record and contactable references
  • Of sober habits
  • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong people relations
  • Ability to set high goals/standards of performance for self
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Self-organized
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced dynamic environment

 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop strategy for product introductions
  • Liaise with other company functions to ensure achievement of sales objectives
  • Develop sales presentations and proposals
  • Provide feedback and support to internal and external stakeholders
  • Build an ethical and professional brand image in the market place
  • Investigate lost sales and customer accounts
  • Forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly sales revenue
  • Generate timely sales reports and client visits
  • Assist in budget preparation
  • Maintain inventory control
  • Conduct market research and competitor and customer analysis
  • Analyse data to identify sales opportunities
  • Propose promotional ideas and materials
  • Cultivate effective business relationships
  • Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs and explain how these can be met by specific product
  • Answer customer queries relating to products, prices, availability, product uses and credit terms
  • Negotiate prices and terms of sales and service agreements
  • Maintain customer records using automated systems
  • Follow up on all laboratory tests requested
  • Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients. Attending trade shows and conferences
  • Prepare sales contracts for orders obtained and submit for processing
  • Assist with deliveries as and when required
  • Assist with the collection of debts
  • Participate in stock takes
  • Contact and meet existing and potential clients to discuss their needs and see how best they can provide a service / product that meets their needs and demands.
