SUMMARY:

We are currently partnering with one of the Country’s biggest Diamond Mining Company’s, in order to recruit, retain and acquire the best possible candidates for their new Underground Mining Project

In order to fulfill these permanent mining/engineering vacancies, we will need the following

POSITION INFO:

The successful candidate must meet the following minimum requirements

Your role will be included but not limited to:

• Adhere to the Safety, Health and Environmental Policies and Procedures and comply with legal and mine safety standards and ensure that all work is performed in accordance to the Mine Health and Safety Act (Chapter 16). 
• Plan activities in accordance with production schedules and allocate resources as required.
• Maintain lifting equipment, winder ropes and attachments.
• Perform rigging and heavy lifting work in surface, underground and vertical shafts.
• Attend to Breakdowns and emergencies as required. 
• Inspect, diagnose and perform trade-related maintenance and exercise judgement with regards to replacement of components. 
• Work in a sequence that prioritises work requirements and conduct and participate in Risk assessments. 

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 / N3 / Equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification with mathematics and Physical Science
• Trade Certificate:  Rigger

Role-specific knowledge:

• Previous rigging experience is essential of which a minimum of 3 years on a Winder Section within an underground mining environment is required
• Maintenance experience on multi-rope winder systems and Koepe (friction & double drum installations) inclusive of an integrated rope clamping and lifting device
• Sound knowledge and experience of Safety, Health and Environmental Legislation and standards applicable to field of work
• Skills to troubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical systems and major equipment within area of responsibility
• Please note:  Will be expected of all successful candidates to undergo training regarding the winder system at the mine
• Experience on SIL (Safety Integrity Level) rated installations would be preferred
