Revit Technician

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for an experienced Revit Structures Modeler / Draughtsperson who has experience within Structural Engineering and working within a BIM environment. This role will provide opportunity to work on some of the most innovative and exclusive projects that the company is involved with in South Africa.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements

• Good working knowledge of Revit
• “Autodesk Certified Professional: Revit Structures” accreditation advantageous
• Revit experience on LOD400 project delivery level
• Successful completion of projects using Revit as a delivery tool
• The candidate may provide examples in their application
• Project management and/or engineering related qualification advantageous
• Minimum 5 years or more experience
• Experience in the building services environment
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010 or higher Relevant training will be given to suitable candidate
• Knowledge of project delivery life cycles and the associated planning processes
• Experience on BIM360 (docs and design)
• Good knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Engineering terminology
• Site Supervision experience advantageous

Overview

• The client requires Revit models, consistent with company standards on multiple multi-disciplinary projects
• The candidate will be required to formalise design sketches received from the professional team
• and report on coordination and clash detection.
• The drawings must incorporate all technical aspects
• Structural steel and concrete reinforcement detailing (2D and 3D) will form part of the duties
• Understanding of the iterative process of multi-disciplinary building projects

Responsibilities:

• Set up, modify, and take ownership of Revit models and drawings for structural team members on the company server, whilst ensuring compliance with company and national standards
• Implement best practice procedures
• Rebar detailing experience, good understanding of SANS10100 and SANS10144
• Structural steel detailing experience advantageous
• The production of 2D drawings from the Revit model
• Coordinating drawing production in line with project requirements and in conjunction with other clients and other disciplines, sometimes external to the company
• Helping to technically deliver Revit projects in the role of CAD and BIM coordination
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and the ability to work alone, or within a team
• Thorough knowledge of and compliance with the company’s procedures and standards
• Attend site meetings during construction with Engineers and contractors for the updating of designs and models
• Maintain and develop Revit families and standards
• Drive project documentation issue procedures via the various online platforms
• Work on improving workflows, testing new tools, versions and procedures and share this knowledge with team members
• Document control (manage and prepare drawing registers and transmittals)
