Retail Paint Counter Sales

This is a well-established retail company, looking for a Counter sales candidate in Durban and surrounding areas. The candidate must be results driven and be able to handle the sales process, from the time of the first request to the execution of the order.

Duties & Responsibilities:

         ·            Greeting customers in a respectful and professional manner

         ·            Process customer orders, errors, and returns successfully

         ·            Answering questions relating to the order and other products that the customer might be interested in i.e., type/colour/quantity of new products

         ·            Dealing with queries or complaints in a professional and effective manner

         ·            Knowledge of dealing with difficult customers and being able to create solutions

         ·            Assist customers finding products on sale floor

         ·            Ensuring the sales area is always clean and tidy

         ·            Process payment of the orders

         ·            Be able to train, manage and provide guidance for junior staff

         ·            Possess excellent leadership qualities to manage a team

         ·            Must be able to delegate tasks to staff

         ·            Provide quick and effective service to customers

         ·            Ensure maximum customer satisfaction

         ·            Must be able to multitask

         ·            Possessing excellent product knowledge to inform customers and increase sales

         ·            Always being informed of new products on the market, and ensuring customers have the correct and most factual information of all new and existing products

         ·            Maintaining a clean workplace environment for yourself and the customers

         ·            Follow up on orders to prevent delay and frustration

Candidate Requirements:

• A relevant retail qualification
• 3 years in retail environment
• Valid matric certificate
• Code 8 or more driver’s licence
• Good computer skills, working knowledge of Omni system shall serve as an advantage
• Good knowledge of MS Office
• Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal

• Clear ITC and fingerprint report
• Strong multitasking skills with good attention to detail
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Problem solving abilities
• Team orientated
• Strong customer service and business orientation
• Interpersonal skills
• Candidate must be willing to work retail hours (alternate weekend and public holidays)
