Restaurant Manager

POSITION INFO:

A well-renowned hospitality estate with a high-end restaurant is in search of a Restaurant Manager to join this amazing team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day restaurant operations to ensure all daily activities run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Communicating relevant information to the team and guests
• Coordinate communication between front of the house and back of the house staff
• Planning rosters and managing stock flow
• Responding to guests bookings on email
• Engaging with the guests in the Restaurant by being present keeping an eye on service and constant interaction with guests and responding to their needs
• Training and quality control of the staff
• Ordering of staff uniforms
• Overseeing restaurant staff performance
• Meeting with suppliers
• Processing emails
• Doing daily cash-ups
• Monitor compliance with safety and hygiene regulations
• General administrative duties

Requirements:

• SA Citizen and Grade 12 qualification
• Position open to BEE candidates only
• Preferably 2-4 years previous experience as a restaurant manager or similar role in the hospitality industry within high-end restaurants
• Must carry good knowledge of food and wines
• Team management abilities
• Available to work within opening hours (e.g. evenings, public holidays, and weekends)
• Excellent interpersonal- and communication skills
• Ability to maintain a professional working relationship with all departments
• Comfortable in dealing with clientele
• Must be well presented and have strong customer service skills
• Flexibility and accountability
• Enthusiastic personality
• Own reliable transport
