Description:

Responsible for greeting customers at a restaurant with a smile, welcoming them into the establishment, seating them, and providing them with a menu. Responsible for creating the first and last impression of the restaurant. Keeping the restaurant orderly, making sure the customers are content, and keeping track of what''s going on at each table by interacting with guests during their meals.

Responsibilities:

• Greeting guests as they enter and adding guests to a waiting list as necessary.
• Providing guests with menus and answering any initial questions.
• Seating guests at tables or in waiting areas.
• Assigning guests to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind so that servers receive the right number of customers.
• Engaging with guests to ensure they''re happy with food and service.
• Responding to complaints and helping to resolve them.
• Answering phone calls, taking reservations and answering questions.
• A knowledge of the menu.
• Helping out with other positions in the restaurant as needed.
• Providing great customer service.
• Ability to manage the restaurant diary and communicate all bookings effectively with FOH and BOH

Requirements:

• Ability to provide excellent guest service in a fast-paced environment.
• A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all restaurant staff.
• Immaculate appearance, comfortable wearing make-up and heals
• Able to read, write and speak fluently in English
• Previous fine dining Hostess experience advantageous
• Planning skills
