SUMMARY:
A privately owned wildlife estate near Hoedspruit is seeking an experienced and hands-on RESERVE MANAGER or RESERVE MANAGER/ADMIN COUPLE to oversee its day-to-day management.
POSITION INFO:
The ideal candidate is a practical all-rounder with game farm experience, who is equally comfortable maintaining bush infrastructure, managing a small team and dealing with residents. This role suits someone who takes ownership and works independently.
Core Criteria:
- Proven experience in reserve or game farm management
- Proven ability to implement and follow a reserve management plan
- Sound game management knowledge
- Hands-on experience maintaining roads, fencing, water pumps and tanks, and electrical infrastructure
- Able to operate a tractor and TLB
- Competent with firearms
- Basic building, plumbing and tool care knowledge
- Team management and strong interpersonal skills
- Budget management and stock take experience
- Tree knowledge
- Basic computer skills
- Valid driver’s licence and PDP
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Of good character
Core Responsibilities:- Manage the reserve in line with the approved management plan
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the residential estate
- Lead and manage the reserve team
- Maintain roads, fencing, water and electrical infrastructure
- Carry out game management activities
- Manage budgets and conduct regular stock takes
- Liaise with residents and stakeholders as required
On Offer:- Salary of R30,000 per month (Reserve Manager) and R15,000 (Administrator)
- Company vehicle provided when on site
- Live-out position
- Working hours 07:00 to 16:00
- Weekends off, unless operationally required
