JOB DESCRIPTION:

Main purpose of the job:

  • Day to day coordination of research-related activities, including data collection and analysis

Location:

  • Ward 21 CRS - 22 Esselen Street, Hillbrow, Johannesburg

Key performance areas:

  • Data collection from fieldwork and review of weekly data for all indicators
  • Capture missing data where applicable
  • Make use of Redcap to monitor and evaluate daily, weekly, and monthly data
  • Storage and archiving of data as per the SOPs
  • Adherence to project protocols, GCP, and local requirements for the ethical conduct of research in human participants
  • Support team with any other research-related activities
  • Maintain the project files and filling the system
  • Complete all relevant project administration as and when required
  • Participate in the implementation of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) needs assessments for the project
  • Review data to identify gaps in the project or recordings
  • Develop M&E interventions in response to the specific needs and priorities of the project
  • Develop a work plan and timelines for addressing the identified needs and priorities
  • Follow through with action plans and data clean-up activities resulting from assessments
  • Participate in data review meetings (to support data use)
  • Plan and conduct regular site visits to conduct data quality assessments and ascertain data-related issues
  • Participate in regular planning sessions with line manager and/or technical specialists
  • Liaise with facility Team Leaders for submission of relevant data
  • Compile prescribed reports for timely submission to the relevant stakeholders
  • Distribute data and reports to relevant team members and management
  • Ensure report queries from M&E technical team are resolved timeously within the reporting timelines set by the M&E reporting portfolio
  • Implement quality improvement plans set out by the project
  • Provide support to ensure appropriate data flow and data quality is maintained
  • Generate timely and accurate monthly reports and submit them to the managers
  • Maintain accurate records to document support provided, processes, and outputs to report to the M&E team
  • Maintain accurate records to document processes and outputs

  • Maintain a positive attitude and respond openly to feedback

Required minimum education and training:

  • Matric (Diploma and Degree advantage)
  • Fluent in English and at least one local language
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office
  • Proficient in Redcap

Required minimum work experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in a research environment

Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities:

  • Certification in good clinical practice
  • Able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Be tactful and respectful
  • Ordered and systematic with strict compliance to protocols
  • Good administrative skills
  • Able to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
