Reinsurance Accountant role in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the financial administration and reinsurance technical accounting within the finance department.

My client is a large insurer. Their South African corporate office based in Cape Town Northern Suburbs is currently seeking the skills of a Reinsurance Accoutant to join their fast-paced and dedicated team. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the financial administration and reinsurance technical accounting within the finance department.

Duties

Journals, Importing/ Exporting and processing up to trial balance
Accounts payable and receivable
Electronic Funds Transfers
Income and payments on bank statement to balance to cashbook
Correct account, cost centre and company allocations
Preparation of audit working papers
Invoices to be checked and follow up on outstanding/unallocated payments
Ensure accurate journal postings for all reinsurance related transactions
Respond to queries
Preparation of reinsurance bordereaux’s
Reconciling and balancing of reinsurance bordereaux’s (balance sheet)

Qualifications & Experience
Financial qualification (Degree/ B.Tech)
Minimum 2 years’ accounting experience within reinsurance/ short term insurance
