Critical Outputs

• Carry responsibility for the clinical assessment and daily management of in patients admitted to the unit
• Positive engagement as a member of the interdisciplinary team on planning and implementing rehabilitation plans
• Maintain patient outcome standards according to the Quality Management System
• Communication with funders and insurers regarding patient condition, progress and future needs
• Communication with family members is key to keep them updated on the medical condition and to answer medically related questions
• Assist with the making of the business and the positioning of the unit in the provision of this challenging focus and teamwork
• Drive a programme for the development of existing and new clinical services / products
• Represent the image of the company at a professional level
• Promote and maintain sound and productive relationships with the rehabilitation interdisciplinary team, doctors and other stakeholders in the field of Rehabilitation
• Drive and build sound working relationships with the referring specialists and keeping them abreast of the progress of their patients
• As part of stakeholder management, referral of specialists to the business will be a continued focus area
• Monitor the service provided and ensure a high level professional training for staff

Requirements

• A MBBCh and registration with the HPCSA
• Current ALS accreditation
• Experience in rehabilitation and clinical neurological care is an advantage
• Experience in leading a team of professionals and successfully providing clinical supervision to professionals
• Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage
• Specialist training as a registrar and or registration as a specialist in related specialties’ would be an advantage
• Computer proficiency
