SUMMARY:
Regulatory Risk Specialist role at a Bank - Sandton, JHB.

POSITION INFO:

The Regulatory Risk specialist will provide guidance in relation to regulatory compliance and monitoring of processes.

He/She will use their technical compliance knowledge to guide and help the business to operate in a risk enabled environment.

Perform risk assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of risk controls.
Monitor business compliance in terms of control framework
Report and escalate non-compliance to the Risk Manager
Use root cause analysis to determine issues, conduct trend analysis
Perform audit testing and document findings in line with compliance methodology
Report on major issues and identify risks and controls
Advice and support stakeholders regarding best practices, legislation, frameworks, processes and tools
Advise business on controls and processes to ensure legislative compliance
Create awareness of the importance of compliance

Qualifications and experience

BCom Degree or Similar
Certificate in Compliance OR Risk Management.
Minimum of 1 - 3 years risk management experience
Solid understanding of the regulatory landscape and Risk Protocols (policies, frameworks)
Understand organisational systems, structures, policies and procedures putting measures in place to ensure the way the business operates and reports comply with regulatory requirements.
Able to use appropriate monitoring methods (processes and techniques to test)
An understanding of South African legislation
