Regulatory Manager Environmental

SUMMARY:

An established environmental sciences and pest control company is seeking the above to be responsible for the preparation of regulatory submissions of Environmental Science products, label updates and petitions to the RSA & SSA Regulatory authorities in order to obtain and maintain necessary regulatory approvals.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Biological or Agricultural Science or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the compilation & submission of regulatory dossiers and 5 years’ operating at a managerial level are essential
• Working knowledge of RSA & Sub-Sahara Africa Regulatory requirements will be required
• Experience in professional pest control, turf management, home-garden pesticides, chemistry, environment, toxicology or administration of hazardous substances is important.
• Project management experience and high attention to detail are important.

• Developing Providing input into new projects to ensure that regulatory requirements are met.
• Providing support to the Technical & Product Development Manager (and Environmental Science team as a whole) in the areas of quality control, stewardship and risk management
• Ensuring that company product labels and other regulated documents and activities meet regulatory, legal, company and community expectations and requirements by coordinating their preparation and maintenance.
• In agreement with business and governance rules, registering new products and maintaining existing products.
• Compiling, submitting and supporting registration applications (which includes valid MSDSs) and label extensions for Environmental Science products in RSA and Sub Saharan Africa.
• Creating and maintaining existing product labels in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
• Maintaining and reviewing Safety Data Sheets for the current and future Environmental Science range of products.
• Maintaining the ES Reg-Prime data-base and ensuring transparency of local product registrations for Global Regulatory Managers.
• Maintaining up-to-date and detailed knowledge of the regulatory environment relevant to the Environmental Science business.
• Providing regulatory information/support to relevant parties (e.g. Technical & Product Development and Commercial Team).
• Developing and maintaining knowledge in business areas and develop good relationships with Regulatory Authorities.
• Managing the requirements of the Regulatory Authorities in SSA and ensuring ES product compliance with country registration processes.
• Reviewing documentation and publications (internal and external) for quality and compliance.
• Advising on hurdles to regulatory success, timeframes for regulatory review and regulatory costs in RSA & SSA.
• Developing a familiarity with the necessary legislation in order to assume primary responsibility for the Regulatory issues associated with ES products in RSA & SSA.
• Supporting the Technical & Product Development Manager on special Projects and setting up protocols for Development/registration trials for registration purposes in SSA.
• Managing the Regulatory budget.
• Representing ES at relevant external industry meetings with the aim of keeping updated with new regulations which may affect ES business.
