SUMMARY:
A large banking group is in search of a Regulatory Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate must have a B.Com and should preferably come from banking or financial services. There will be heavy emphasis on the preparation of monthly regulatory returns for submissions and ensuring the bank complies with the Bank Act and other relevant regulatory reporting frameworks. As such, Regulatory experience is non-negotiable.

They have operations in a whopping 37 countries and dominates the global market share of deposits. Their services cover both personal and corporate banking, including loans and wealth management. The ideal candidate must have solid knowledge of banking regulations and Basel III. Knowledge of reporting systems (Banking / General Ledger / DIX) is absolutely crucial. The company is diverse and the incumbent will interact with colleagues across the globe, meaning over and above your technical skills, you will also have to be able to interact and work with people from different countries and cultures.
As Regulatory Accountant you will be responsible for:

Liaise with Bank-wide teams to collate all underlying information required as inputs into monthly and quarterly BA returns
Ensure timeous and accurate completion of all applicable returns
Reconcile and validate financial information compiled against performance reports prior to submission
Streamline and enhance the BA reporting process
Prepare variance analysis report for all major movements
Compile commentary for graph discussions when required
Facilitate approval of monthly BA099
Facilitate query resolution on returns
Compile key metrics, ratios and stratifications per Pillar III disclosure requirements
Ensure that the Bank’s website is timeously updated with the requisite information
Stay abreast of proposed amendments to applicable regulations
Prepare an impact analysis of changes based on the Bank’s operating environment
Drive testing and implementation of BA return changes on the Dix system
Ensure that all requests for information pertaining to quarterly, interim and annual audits are timeously completed
Maintain an audit file with relevant supporting documents on a proactive basis
Ensure all audit findings are appropriately addressed
Track and implement audit recommendations where applicable

Job Experience and Skills Required:

B.Com
Regulatory reporting non-negotiable
Knowledge of reporting systems (Banking/General Ledger/DIX)
