Registered Staff Nurse - Howick
Salary: Negotiable
Job Purpose: To manage the provision of primary health care function per shift in accordance with applicable legislation & agreed medical procedures

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requirements

Matric
Relevant nursing qualification
Enrolled Nurse and SANC registered
3 Years in General Nursing experience and at least 1 year experience in frail care or Old Aged homes
Must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle

Duties And Responsibilities:

Managing a patient’s healthcare plan according to the Physician’s instructions
Bathing and grooming the patient daily
Checking temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and other vital signs
Administering and maintaining a record of all prescribed medication
Checking for infection, bedsores, and wounds in the patient
Educating and advising Caregivers in the household
Dressing or redressing wounds and assessing the progress of healing
Developing and improving the healthcare plan in collaboration with other healthcare personnel in the household
Providing palliative care as needed to keep the patient comfortable
Make recommendations for devices ot tools that might improve the patient’s quality of life
