SUMMARY:
A hospital with level-1 Trauma unit,  is looking for a dedicated, professional Trauma trained nurse to join their team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Applicants must be able to function well in a busy and stressful trauma environment  and work well in a team.
        
Key responsibilities:
  • Deliver emergency medical care, assess and stabilize patients
  • Triage patients to prioritize the most severe or life-threatening patients
  • Perform emergency procedures (CPR, intubation, IV’s)
  • Provide wound care
  • Prepare patients for emergency surgery if required
  • Comply with Infection Control and Health & Safety policies
  • Effective management of stock within the unit
Education and skills needed to be considered:
Nursing Diploma or Degree
Post basic Trauma or Emergency Care qualification (required)
Registered with SANC
BLS certificate
Minimum of 2 yrs nursing experience within Trauma unit
Ability to remain calm in a stressful situation 
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
