Our client, a retirement home in the Helderberg area, has an opportunity for a Registered Nurse / Sister to join their team.

The position involves the full spectrum of geriatric care for the elderly in the retirement home and in the frail care unit.

Requirements:

• The successful candidate must be a qualified Nurse with a valid annual registration with the SA Nursing Council.
• At least 5 years’ experience of elderly care, as recently as 6 months’ ago.
• Knowledge and application skills in the management of scheduled medication and the control thereof.
• Excellent wound care knowledge and skills.
• Infection control experience, specifically with regards to Covid 19 regulations within the elderly care environment.
• Computer literacy in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Management skills with regards to the quality care services to the elderly.
• Management experience in the productivity of staff to always provide excellent service to all residents.
• Clinical expertise in dealing with geriatric conditions.
• Must be willing to work shifts that include day and night shifts, and weekends.
• Must be fluent in Afrikaans and English.

Area: Helderberg area – Strand / Somerset West.

Salary offered: R24 000 - R26 000 per month – depending on qualifications and experience.

Starting date: As soon as possible.
