POSITION INFO:

Requirements

It is required for the nurses is required to have 4 year degree/diploma in nursing

- It is required for the nurses Registered with SANC

- It is required for the nurses to have a Minimum of 3-5 years relevant working experience

Duties

-Maintains the surveillance database and interrogates the collected data in order to accumulate information for publication purposes, present/disseminate results to concerned parties, and to comply with WHO accreditation criteria.

-Recruit sentinel sites for disease surveillance and supply recruited sites with appropriate specimen collection materials and transport in order to ensure on-going support and participation.

-Monitor relevant population groups to obtain any early warning signs of possible disease outbreaks thereby assisting in the implementation of early and appropriate action if required to prevent spread of the disease.

-Writes articles for publication in surveillance bulletins for national and international distribution and notification.

-Contributes to the development of standard operating procedures for research projects in order to assess sample requirements and ensure validity of final results obtained.

-Handle or refer telephonic queries in order to provide the appropriate medically related information requested.

-Provide relevant training on data management and surveillance issues to assist in the implementation and understanding of the above.
