Registered Nurse – Emergency Department Qualified

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Effective cost management
• Minimizing stock wastage
• Facilitating maintenance of equipment
• Initiate, direct and maintain emergency treatment (RESUS) as indicated to any patient / person in any ward / department of the hospital. To diagnose and treat the emergency patient quickly, effectively, and efficiently as possible within the Scope of Practice
• Identifying and ensuring staff undergo department specific micro orientation
• Ensuring daily care rounds are conducted and investigating complaints
• Providing accurate, appropriate and adequate information to patients and family members during hospitalization
• Comply with ISO requirements in order to facilitate infection control 

Education and Experience

 Preferred

• Grade 12 or an equivalent NQF Level 4 Qualification
• Must be a Registered Nurse currently registered with the South African Nursing Council
• Post Basic Qualification 12 months is essential
• Private Hospital experience in an Emergency Department is advantageous
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in the specified discipline would be an advantageous
