Regional Category Manager (IT)

SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager our client based in Durban is seeking a dynamic, energetic and consultative Category Manager.

POSITION INFO:

The main goal is to increase sales and profitability of the category to drive sustainable growth. You will be required to provide sales for a full range of IT hardware and consumables by maintaining clients and sourcing new sales opportunities. Appropriate technical expertise, sound sales background and ability to provide product support and customer service is essential.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required

• Relevant Degree or equivalent qualification
• 3-4 years of experience in an external sales role or similar
• Experience in a Key Account Manager role would be an advantage
• Strong on business development by sourcing new sales opportunities
• Proven track record of over-achieving targets
• Consultative seller, maintain and grow the portfolio (IT hardware and consumables)
• Strong negotiation skills to achieve a win/win agreement with clients
• Strong administration, marketing and sales acumen
• Ability to operate at strategic, tactical and operational levels
• Computer Literacy
• Valid Driver’s Licence and own reliable vehicle
• Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Self-driven, results and target orientated
• Be able to work in a pressurised environment

Key Result Areas:

• Visiting clients with the sales consultants regularly
• Spending and investing time in the branches – commercial and retail
• Responsible for checking and ensuring that all rebates are accurate and relevant
• Ensuring that Contracts / Pricing is up to date
• Developing strong relationships with suppliers/distributors
• Driving and developing relationships with clients – new and existing
• Marketing the category through regional promotions
• Creating specials and promotions to increase product and brand awareness
• Creating and developing a long-term plan of action and strategy for the category
• Working together with clients and sales teams to translate customer insights into strategies
• Analysing data and insights to determine consumer trends and increase sales
• Organise product training to be implemented regularly – commercial and retail
• Planning and executing customer events that will drive and promote the category
• Analyse and develop appropriate reports
