Refractory Technician

Key responsibilities will include:

• Plan daily Refractory Installations and achieve turnaround targets for Vessels Relines
• Align all work related to Refractory Installation and monitoring with Quality Standard
• Adhere to relevant principles, Refractory, Metallurgy, Safety, Quality and Environmental Standards - OSHACT
• Responsible for trouble shooting and taking corrective action around Vessel failure
• Effective Contractor liaison associated with coaching and training team members
• Coach and monitor diverse teams within the Business Unit
• Responsible for summary writing and accurate reporting

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

• N6 / Engineering Diploma Mechanical / Electrical
• 5 years’ experience in Refractory Installation
• National Diploma Metallurgy / Chemical Engineering (Advantageous)
• Must be physically fit to work shift, comfortable to work in an environment with extreme heat, dust, noise and heights
• Computer literate
