Reach Truck Driver

SUMMARY:
Our client in the FMCG sector has an opportunity for a Reach Truck Driver at their premises in Greenbushes.

POSITION INFO:
Qualifications and Experience:

- To understand the operation, safety requirements and restraints of a moving machinery (must be 18 years or older to operate the reach truck)
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent experience
- Ability to work shifts and overtime (if required)
- Valid reach truck license
- Proven work experience as a Reach truck Driver in a freezer environment that makes use of mobile racking
- Knowledge of applicable reach truck driving rules and regulations
- No record of incidents

Main Duties and Responsibilities

- Receiving: Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations
- Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas
- Quality: Ensure inbound and outbound consignments are accurate and free of damage
- Report quality non-conformances
- Order Picking: Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and dispatched.
- Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards
- Loading: Efficiently move product from cold store into the containers / delivery vehicles
- Equipment: Load, unload, move, stack and stage product and materials using a reach truck.
- Maintain good housekeeping and report any non-conformances
- Complete a daily maintenance inspection register and report any non-conformances to the supervisor / health & safety officer.
- Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods
- Inventory: Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained.
- Assist in physical inventories.
- Ensure proper stock rotation
- To use stacking techniques that will prevent damage to product
- Assist food safety team with internal audits, external audits and applicable training
- Any and all other related tasks and duties as expected from the employer from time to time.
