SUMMARY:
A RGP Developer position is available within the Financial Service Provider space based in Fourways. We are looking for some who will design, develop, implement, and support technological solutions to meet the strategic objectives.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities:

Build new RPG programs and modify existing programs to meet requirements
Troubleshoot software/job failures and work with staff to resolve
Ensure programs are kept in proper working order
Create libraries of routines and utilities
Write programs using RPG syntax and code to create objects, reports, forms, menus, dialogue boxes, macros, procedures, and other items for use with a database system
Debug programs and troubleshoot problems with existing systems
Retest programs after making changes
Keep up with changing programming trends in the field of RPG

Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in computer science
Experience working with RPG as a developer
5+ years of experience in RPG programming and design
Proficiency with RPG, SQL and RDi
Knowledge of programming practices and techniques, especially in designing, coding, testing and debugging applications, including the ability to write code that is efficient, easy to read and maintainable
Proven understanding of relational database concepts and principles
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
