RETAIL SALES MANAGER (STEEL PIPES& FITTINGS) –ALRODE (3923)

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 / equivalent

Requirements

• 5 or more years’ recent experience in a management role
• Strong trading and selling skills within the following industries (steel pipes, fittings, valves, and flanges) this is not negotiable
• Own transport and a driver’s licence
• Have a stable work record and contactable references
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
• Of sober habits
• Able to work retail hours
• Computer literate (Ms Office Suite and an ERP system)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Merchandise products
• Increase and stimulate sales
• Supervise and motive sales staff
• Service customers
• Control stock, introduce new products and ranges
• Oversee daily control cash-ups
• Achieve sales and G.P budgets
• Handle promotional work (retail, digital and social media), oversee the store layout, focus on generating sales, prepare budgets, weekly reports etc. purchase steel and hardware products at best market price directly from the steel mill or other steel merchants.
