A busy steel and hardware merchant requires a motivated person to join their steel and hardware cash and carry.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualifications:

Grade 12 / equivalent

Requirements

5 or more years’ recent experience running a busy steel and hardware retail outlet as a manager is essential and not negotiable
Strong trading and selling skills within the following industries (steel & hardware, fluid control, and related industries) this is not negotiable
Recent management experience
Own transport and a driver’s licence
Have a stable work record and contactable references
Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
Of sober habits
Able to work retail hours
Computer literate (Ms Office Suite and an ERP system)
Reside in or around the Witbank Area

Duties and Responsibilities:

Merchandise products
Increase and stimulate sales
Supervise and motive sales staff
Service customers
Control stock, introduce new products and ranges
Oversee daily control cash-ups
Achieve sales and G.P budgets
Handle promotional work (retail, digital and social media), oversee the store layout, focus on generating sales, prepare budgets, weekly reports etc. purchase steel and hardware products at best market price directly from the steel mill or other steel merchants.
