SUMMARY:
REGISTERED NURSE - THEATRE TRAINED (CENTURION)

POSITION INFO:

Seeking a Registered Nurse that is Theatre Trained with a minimum of  3 years experience in scrubbing for Thoracic, Neuro, Vascular and Urology.

Reporting to the Unit Manager.

Must have completed a Diploma in Operating Room Technique.

Experience & qualifications

  • Must be a Registered Nurse - registration with the South African Nursing Council.
  • Must be in possession of a Diploma in Operating Room Technique.
  • Have at least 5 years private hospital experience in Theatre as an Scrub Nurse
  • Previous experience in Theatre as a Scrub Sister in a multi discipline environment especially vascular, Neuro, Thoracic.
Duties:

  • Patient care and counselling
  • Perform rostered weekend duties / emergency relief on call duties and associated tasks
  • Provide safe, clean and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors
  • Utilise supplies and equipment in an economical manner
  • Co-operate and collaborate with other hospital departments to provide quality patient care
  • Liaise with ward manager on matters relating to patient care
  • Keep accurate records at all times
  • Required to serve on relevant committees within the department
  • Supervise and evaluatequality of patient care through patient rounds
  • Communicate with patient and family regarding patient care and inform Unit Manager of patient care problems
  • Assist with the coaching of junior staff within the Unit
  • Take responsibility of Theatre and cases on a daily basis
