R&D Scientist

SUMMARY:
Develop concepts, products and solutions for our pharma manufacturing.

POSITION INFO:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• PhD/MSc/B.Sc/(Chemistry, Food Science, Pharmaceutical or related).
• Experience with complimentary medicines and Botanical extracts as well as knowledge of CAMs, homeopathic and herbal medicines will be advantageous.
• Computer literate with a focus on Excel and Word
• 3- 5 years’ experience in a Pharma manufacturing environment

 DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Lead key projects with R&D to support business goals.
• Develop concepts, products and solutions by coordinating with Sales & Marketing units.
• Understand customer expectations on to-be manufactured product.
• Determine and execute improved technologies used by suppliers, competitors and customers.
• Establish project goals and priorities by collaborating with Marketing and Operations.
• SAHPRA, GMP and industry knowledge will be advantageous
• Assist in the formulation of new products
• Assist in the reformulation of existing products
• Assist the marketing team with technical issues
• Compile development and technical documentation
• Pay attention to detail in formulations
• Must have a flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning.
• Must have the ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail.
• Must be self-motivated with a willingness to accept responsibility and challenges. Assist Wet Chemistry staff when required.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to accept responsibility and challenges and able to work under pressure.
• Investigate new technologies and novel ingredients for Complementary Medicines Market.
