Our client is a reputable packaging manufacturer for food and industrial sectors.

Job Description

 

Reporting to the SHE Manager and Site Logistics Manager, You will be responsible for the following outputs:

• Managing audits (internal, external, cross-functional) and audit findings
• Managing awareness efforts (develop training material – daily use (green areas), weekly use (e.g. ISO, Golden Rules, frequently used forms – to be presented at Production meetings nationally)
• Managing preventative action efforts
• Following-up on corrective action effectiveness
• Updating and maintaining H&S and Environmental procedures, including Emergency procedures
• Driving the H & S system and meetings
• Managing training processes with regards to Health and Safety
• Managing noise assessments, ventilation, lighting and air contamination risk assessments, flammable store, HIRA’s
• Coordinating accident / incident investigations
• Managing & tracking H&S Objective targets as per procedure
• Analysing IODs
• Attending weekly production meetings to discuss Food Safety and H&S issues
• Managing external service providers e.g. Pest Control & Cleaning Services
• Managing the housekeeping function & controlling the budget
• Ordering of all protective clothing, chemicals, etc
• Assisting with negotiating prices with suppliers of chemicals, protective clothing, etc
• Assisting with training of departmental cleaners in relevant HACCP practices
• Liaising with suppliers e.g. pest controller, hygiene & chemical suppliers to ensure all standards are met
• Implementing the ISO 9001 Quality System and Food Safety System as per the Operating Procedures and Work Instructions relating to the department.

 

Qualifications

 

• A Matric certificate (A SHE focused diploma or qualification would be advantageous)
• Preferably be a certified Quality Systems Internal Auditor

 

Skills

 

• A minimum of 3 year’s experience in a production environment
• At least 3 years’ experience in supervisory role
• A minimum of 3 years working experience in an ISO (or related) Systems environment
• Excellent computer literacy and working knowledge of SAP

Salary / Package

R300K - R360K CTC p/a
