JOB DESCRIPTION:

Western Cape - Well established and growing company needs the services of an experience Quarry Supervisor. Remuneration negotiable according to industry demand

Key Accountabilities

Responsible for all work undertaken in the Quarry including infrastructure
Specialist and Industrial Sand Quarry and Processing
Customer focus and Liaison work
Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE legislation, in particular the Quarries Regulations 1999
Develop and maintain the Quarries health and safety document in order to fully meet the QR requirements
Implement and ensure compliance with health and safety systems / standards and best practices
Ensure that all work undertaken in the quarry is risk assessed and safe-working procedures put in place
Ensure that all accidents and incidents are reported and fully investigated and corrective action taken as necessary
Motivate, develop and train quarry personnel and contractors to ensure they continue to meet the competency requirements
Development of the Quarry annual plan and budgets. Ongoing responsibility for the quarry cost control and forecasting
Project management of projects within the quarry within agreed timescales and budget.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 5 years' experience working in a quarry
Specialist and Industrial Sand Quarry and Processing experience
Experience of managing teams and staff development
Excellent Customer engagement skills and the ability to focus on the customer
Project management experience
Effective Budgeting and cost control skills
Diploma in Quarry Technology or equivalent relevant experience
NVQ level 4 in Health Safety and Environmental Management in Quarrying
