Quantity Surveyor INTERMEDIATE

SUMMARY:
Intermediate site based Quantity Surveyor required to be based in Port Elizabeth This is only open for EE Applications for local Eastern Cape Residents

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications and experience required:

• B.Tech or B.Sc Quantity Surveying is essential
• Super CCS skills are essential
• 6 years experience gained on building projects that include high rise developments.

Duties:

• Measuring of all trades of construction
• Managing and overseeing tasks of Junior site based QS’s
• Measuring of Labour Only Sub-Contractor’s work and issuing them with payment certificates
• Measurement of Sub-Contractors work
• Creating payment certificates to Sub-Contractors
• Checking, comparing and negotiating rates with Suppliers and Sub-Contractors
• Setting up contract agreements for the appointment of Sub-Contractors
• Providing quantities for ordering of materials
• Ordering of and checking materials on arrival on site
• Reconciliations of materials
• Determining and controlling wastages of materials
• Creating monthly progress valuations
• Detecting and costing variations
• Agreeing final accounts with Sub Contractors and Clients
• Running monthly cost reports
• Running cost to completions on overhead cost
• Determining monthly cash flows and forecasting
• Project cost control
• Building positive relationships with Clients, Management, Suppliers and Sub-Contractors

MUST be fluent in Xhosa and English

Our Client is a building Contractor who work mainly on large construction building projects that include Office Blocks, Warehouses and Residential Buildings.
