Quantity Surveyor

SUMMARY:
Quantity Surveyor to be site based on a building project in SECUNDA Mpumalanga

POSITION INFO:

• B.Tech Quantity Surveying or B.Sc Quantity Surveying
• 5+ years experience with being a site based QS on either an Office Block or Shopping Centre project preferered 
• Must be resident in the Secunda area of Mpumalanga

Duties:

• Running awarded contracts in all administration and financial respects, including buying materials, checking creditors accounts in respect thereof, managing and paying sub-contractors and prepring / reconciling a timeous final account
• Compile monthly cost reports to be reviewed by MD and Financial director
• Do Cashflow every Month and submit to Financial Director
• Do Monthly Payments on Build Smart to Labour only and supply and fix sub-contractors
• Measure on site all Labour only sub-contractors work for payment
• Do an assessment of the claim submitted for work done by supply and fix sub-contractor to ascertain if claim is correct before payment happens
• Check orders before authorization is given to procurement to proceed with orders. Verify the quantities and specifications also
• Send out sub-contractor appointments (Contracts) and scrutinize rates to make sure we are within budget and allowable
• Attend site meetings and liaise with the professional team (PQS, Architect, Principal Agent, engineer etc.)
• Do Monthly claims on projects and submit to the PQS for Payment
• Do final accounts on various projects to close out the project and agree final accounts with subcontractors to settle final payment
• Do variation orders and costings for extras and send for approval
