Quality Technician

Key Performance Areas:

Provide clear leadership for development of an enviroment focused on Quality.Develop quality - Quality Management sytem( including TS16949, ISO14001/OHAS18001)process links with customers inline with Production part approval process(PPAP, Advance Product Quality planning(apqp), Controls plan, Failure mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Supplier Quality Assuurance(SOA)processes and oversee continued compliance andembedding across the business.

Quality

• Implement Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ensure compliance.
• Respond to customer complaints putting in contaiment action, full analysis, poka-yokes(error proofing), andimplementing short-term and long-term countermeasures.
• Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and adits.
• Indroduce new systerms and procedures where approriate.
• Undertake internal and process audits of Quality Management System (QMS)
• Establish and refine quality sign-off instructions, standards and documents.
• Lead regular quality and scrap meetings with representatives from appropriate department to establish an action plan for improving build quality.
• Produce written reports and make presentations.
• Perform root causse analysis and resolve problems.
• Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPI''s) for each area of responsibility.
• Conduct risk assessments of processes and task in the department.

Document and reporting:

• Ensure meaningful, accurate, timeous and complete information is recorded on all documentation relative to your area of responsibility and the compilation of all performance statistics and reports.
• Ensure all the branch complies with all regulatory bodies and preparation for audits are completed on time.Ensure that non-conforming product is located in the correct stock allocation and facilitate the disposal when approved.
• Complete non-conformance report within the required time-frame.

Health, Safety and Enviroment:

Ensure that all Health, Safety and Enviroment requirements are adhered to without compromise.

Continuos Improvement:

To make recommendations on any improvements in the operational area that could impact positively on all related responsibilities.

Ensure that the housekeeping within the are of control is maintained and improved continuosly.

Ensure that the quarantine are is neat and tidy and all product within the are is identified.

Task Flexibility:

• Perform any other reasonable duties as allocted by management.

Academic Qualifications:

• Must have grade 12
• A qualification in Industrial / Mechanical / Quality Management Diploma is a must.

Experience:

• 5 - 10 years experience in the Steel processing production and experience as a Quality technician/manager.
• Must have own car and drivers license
